Logan Paul's CryptoZoo Focus of 3-Part Investigative Journalism Series by YouTuber Coffeezilla

This story has fake orphans, a man who claims to have won the SuperBowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 [despite never having been associated with football, let alone the NFL], a so-called CIA operative who was responsible for hacking AOL, market manipulation, source code being held hostage in Switzerland, and betrayal from CryptoZoo's founding fathers that plays out like a soap opera.

Last year, Logan Paul---a YouTuber who first rose to infamy when he vlogged through Japan's suicide forest---threw his hat into the cryptocurrency ring last year when he announced the project CryptoZoo. However, thanks to another popular YouTuber, CryptoZoo has found itself center-stage in the collective conversation, bringing with it an uncomfortable amount of scrutiny.

In a three-part series on his YouTube channel, investigative journalist, Coffeezilla, exposes the deceitful grift that CryptoZoo is---and has been from the beginning. An ironic revisit to Paul's career, following Coffeezilla's exposé on 'Dink Doink', another scam coin that Logan had been peddling. This, however, was different because it wasn't just a coin... it was a game.

CryptoZoo's website describes itself as an "autonomous ecosystem that allows ZooKeepers to buy, sell, and trade exotic animals and hybrids." However, according to his research and many interviews with CryptoZoo users---some of whom had reported losses of upwards of $500k---there was never a way for the eggs to hatch.

Looking back, there were definitely signs that should've been red flags for anyone who wanted to be involved. For example, when he announced the project in 2022, Paul claimed that his team---a "massive team", according to Logan---had 10 different artists working on hand-made, one-of-a-kind pieces of art for six months prior to the game's launch. However, when initial renderings were released prior to the game's launch, it was undoubtedly clear that no artists had been employed---at least, not to work on those images---as the photos were obviously photoshops of various stock images of animals.

The story takes many twists and turns, however, in our effort to support independent journalism, we're not going to spoil Coffeezilla's findings. However, Moistcr1TiKal, another popular YouTuber, said in a reaction video to Coffeezilla's first installment:

"This whole things feels like the series finale to Logan Paul's career, where all of the side-characters come in together for one big, final 'oo-rah' like in an episode where they bring in everyone to celebrate the end of the show. It's crazy just how deep this CryptoZoo rabbit hole goes."
